There is a great debate on whether or not there was a lost age. Some medes who have been researching believe they have found things that show that there was a lost age. However, there is nothing written from this age, so they can’t be certain it existed.

Medes and some scholars believe that evolution slowly came about to form all the species. However, because this universe has magical aspects, evolution did not happen the same way as our universe.

The races in the Lost Age included the medes who had beaks like an eagle and stood upright like a man. They were intelligent and lived more than ten times as long as humans. The medes became seekers of knowledge and often kept to themselves. Men had fought wars with the medes because it was men who wanted to gain glory for conquering the lands… a glory that would quickly vanish with their short life spans.

The other race in the Lost Age was the stiminites. The stiminites were frail creatures who loved peace. They weren’t trained in battle, and they were quickly taken over by men and made to be their slaves. For centuries, the stiminites worked for man without a rebellion. One day, a stiminite was born who would stand up to his owners. Little is understood as to why this stiminite had stood up, but he was unlike the other stiminites as he had a human father. He desired the release of his people from the tyranny of man.

In this time, aliens known as Gnonows posed as gods and manipulated humans into doing their work; however, the humans burdened the stiminites with work. The gnonows often visited the planet in those times with flying machines. They are tall, maybe nine feet, with an orange color to their skin with a greenish tint. They have black eyes. They hold a device that contains a red light. The red light is some kind of magic that destroys anything in its path. If stiminites don’t obey the humans, they will destroy both stiminites and the humans as punishment.

The aliens seek purple gems, which are valuable on their own planet. These aliens are also elites on their own planet and use the purple gems in order to control and manipulate their own inhabitants. Not all on this other planet are evil, although a lot of them are susceptible to greed. Humans and stiminites don’t understand the use of the gems.

There were magic users in that time, but it wasn’t centralized like Magdad. Wizards in that time were not trusted among humans. Herbs and other items were the basis of magic. Inner magic was not used until after the Lost Age.

The prehistory is only theorized by some medes, historians, and philosophers, but isn’t accepted as fact.

There was the Kingdom of Mohan, which held stiminite slaves in the northern regions.

The stiminites also partook in building ancient structures that have stood the tests of time and are a mystery to the ages afterward.

They built the Temple of Dreams, which has 9 sides and an entrance on each side. The nine sides represent the 9 planets and 9 constellations.

They also built the mysterious statues in the desert. There are 11 statues that are set up in a symbolic fashion. The rebel stiminites, and medes may have built them to warn people of the gnonows who oppressed the world. The symbols are difficult to decipher and are believed to hold ancient secrets. They seemed to have been built out in the middle of nowhere when they were first discovered in the desert.

Alleged Events

Aliens enslave humans – At first, the aliens wanted to enslave the medes but the medes were difficult and didn’t accept them as gods. Humans were more easily manipulated.

Humans enslave stiminites – The aliens required too much work from humans, so the humans made slaves of the stiminites. Stiminites are a weaker species and usually are afraid to fight back.

The Stiminite Rebellion – One Stiminite stood up to their slave masters. This Stiminite was actually half human and half stiminite, and his mother died giving birth to him. The baby survived and grew up in Ptariah, a human village. He was called Trinan, meaning “half-breed.” He united with a wizard named Zalod and was able to grab a red-beamed weapon and kill an alien. This made him and a human witness wonder if they were really gods. A human who was a former warrior named Braite helped them.

Enraged Aliens Destroy life – There was a time that the humans and stiminites were free after the rebellion. However, the aliens realized that they could no longer control them and destroyed them with a nuclear holocaust. The destruction had no effect on Ruinoneo, but there was nothing living there anyway.

The Planet is called Aztharian. The most well-known continent is Zalonia, but there are other continents that exist. There are five planets total and three moons that are generally seen from the continent of Zalonia.

No one knows how exactly the universe came about. Not even the Prophet of Old or the Great Historian was given the vision of what came before the universe

In the beginning, there was a giant explosion creating infinite parallel universes. The explosion was created by the Nine Ancient Ones, who organized the universes as they exploded. These universes held magic within them. Some had strong magic, and some had weak magic. If the magic were too strong, the universe would be destroyed by the misuse of power. If the magic were too weak, then people would die from sadness because they would have no hope. The magic of hope is a strong enough magic to keep a universe alive. Our universe is a world with just enough magic, whereas the fantasy world of Aztharian has much stronger magic until the ages come to an end.

Ruinoneo was the first, with no known origin. It wasn’t made by the Nine Ancient Ones, and they don’t even know where it came from. It came before the explosion and, at some point in time, was attached to Aztharian. It existed before the first creation of Aztharian. There was an unknown good species that inhibited it at one time that knew the prophecies of the planet of Aztharian, even though it was not attached to the planet yet. They inscribed the prophecies in a lost language in hopes of saving some. They had a leading prophet known by some as “The Prophet of Old,” but they don’t know their origin. They inhibited the city, but were overcome by the original evil force. However, as they went down, they cursed the city, killing anything alive and bringing the evil force to death along with them. Had they not used this curse, evil would have spread over Aztharian and the universe. The ancient good and the ancient evil combined as one, and everything that came after had aspects of both. These aspects are often denied by most, besides a select few philosophers. This is a parallel to the Yin-Yang

Many medes and some of the other scholars of the world believe that life first came from very small particles that combined together.

Centuries (billions of years according to some of the medes and some scholars) came and passed before the beginning of life came into being. The four elements of earth, fire, water, and air existed, but Spirit had not entered yet. When Spirit descended upon the elements, life came into existence. The beginning of life marked the beginning of humans, animals, and plants.

Dark Energy

Dark Energy can be used for magical purposes. It is generally used for vital healings to save someone who is dying. This type of magic doesn’t work on age-related decay, but it can help those who are wounded on the battlefield. It has to be used before the person who is injured fully dies. Dark Energy has stronger healing properties than regular magic. In order to obtain the ability to use this magic, one has to go through the extra courses necessary at the magic schools in Magdad. Dark matter magic can also be learned with a mentor and a student. Very few magicians are willing to learn this kind of magic because of its difficulty.

Dark Matter

Dark Matter is related to Zalonia for it’s use in magic. What is dark matter? I don’t think anyone knows. It makes up a bigger portion of our universe than regular matter. It is assumed that dark matter would be cold. The only thing you need to know is that the magic derived from Dark Matter which has a very raw form of magic. It can cause some brutal injuries, such as bending the arms back until they break, and the same with fingers, legs, and so on. It is a very painful side to dark matter.

Aetherlites

Aetherlites are other objects that can be seen using instruments like telescopes. The medes can see them with their eyes, which are seven times the strength of the human eye. They are light objects that orbit around the sun. They have a short lifespan of about 3,000 years for a really large one, to about 500 years for a small one. There is fear among medes that these objects could collide with Aztharian. In fact, some medes have predictions as to when one will hit. However, no one knows for sure because it is hard to tell where they are coming from, and each has a different orbit. They produce their own light source, and if one comes near the planet, even humans can see them with their naked eyes.

Glimmerglobes

These are objects that glow, but are smaller than the stars and planets. They are part of the solar system, but do not follow a particular path. There is some fear among the medes that one of these can collide with Aztharian and destroy the planet. However, the glimmerglobes have an antigravity aspect to them which is how they seem to avoid colliding with large bodies such as planets.

Skygleams/Shineliths

Skygleams/Shineliths are objects in the sky that appear similar to stars. However, they are low in gravity. Legend has it that the Nine Ancient Ones put them there as constellations to help give people directions. They do not twinkle like stars but hold a solid look. They are larger than the sun, but are at least a few light-years from the solar system. They are called both shineliths and skygleams, depending on which culture is talking about them.

Celestiorbs

Merging “celestial” with “orbs,” this term emphasizes their heavenly, spherical nature. They are beautiful if peering through an instrument. They are almost like crystals, and they give off their own light. They are different from the stars and are typically diamond-shaped. There are only three or four that can be seen in the night sky. It is believed to hold certain magical meaning, such as it is good to focus on a celestiorb when it is in the sky. The main magic it produces is that of healing. There are temples that have open ceilings so people can be healed through these space objects. Some high priests and priestess can access their magical properties, especially if their magical strength is in healing others.

Luminarocks:

A simple combination of “luminous” and “rocks,” indicating their glowing appearance and possibly lower density compared to normal stars. They can only be told apart from the stars due to their behavior. They are in the solar system, and while small, they have a strong glow to them. Once in a while, they will crash onto the planet, and magic users often grab the remnants. While the remnants can be used for magical purposes, the luminarocks have no magical qualities while they are up in the sky.

The dust gathered from them can enhance many magical abilities. It is often used in times of war, whether it is a defensive or an offensive war. A laser-like beam can be produced by the particles of luminarocks, and the laser is typically deadly. It is a great advantage to have luminarocks in war, but they are very hard to find.

Ethereospheres

Combining “ethereal,” which conveys a light, airy quality, with “spheres,” indicating their shape. They are the largest objects found in space, and there aren’t any in the same galaxy in the stories. They are bigger than galaxies, but they are so far away that their influence is minimal. They are not close enough to be able to work with in a magical sense. However, they appear in various shapes like triangles and circles. They are too far away to see with the naked eye, but the medes have found them using their devices to stretch how far they can see.

Radiant Stones

A more literal name that directly describes their appearance and nature. They are asteroids that glow, and they have their own irregular belt that is typically between Onog and Anohpmi, but they sometimes come closer. Sometimes, a Radiant Stone can go off course and crash on either. There are magical properties that give one the ability to temporarily disappear. They can also make one quieter when sneaking up on someone, so they can be used for this in times of war. They also work as lie detectors. The one accused of lying has to come before the stone, and if he is lying, then the stone glows. The larger stones, about 9 inches in diameter, can sometimes help a person teleport to a different part of Zalonia.

The Phantom Moons of Zalonia

Phantom moons sometimes appear in the sky. They often only appear above lands to signify something. For example, if a green moon appears, it often symbolizes sickness and disease. This could be various types of plagues. It might not refer to regular sickness, but to people losing their minds and going insane. In some places, people are forbidden to go outside if there is a green moon, so it doesn’t spread diseases. In other areas, they don’t understand what the green moon means, but they become afraid because it is something they have never seen before. An example of the green moon would be when there are too many volcanoes erupting in an area, and people get sick from the aftermath.

The silver moon appears before a famine in order to prepare those who will have to deal with the famine. Some places might do an early harvest just to prepare for a possible famine. There are times people can prevent a famine with this warning, but they have to take the warning seriously.

Green Moon – Disease

Green Phantom Moon of Zalonia

When the green moon appears over a certain place, it is a symbol that a plague is about to be released or has already been released. It warns that people should stay inside so the sickness doesn’t spread as easily.

Violet Moon — Good Omen

Violet Phantom Moon

The violet moon symbolizes blessing, destiny, and protection. It appears above heroes, rulers, or chosen individuals, especially during birth. If a mother sees a purple moon while her baby is being born she can be assured that her child will be great in some way. This moon only appears to the lower or middle class, but not the higher class because most people born into the higher class will remain there. It also means that crops will grow faster and morale rises. It symbolizes that the gods are watching.

Black Moon — Death Approaching

Black Phantom Moon

The black moon can be hard to see when it appears because it appears like a black hole would appear, but because it is nearer to the planet, it is seen as a circle that blocks out the stars that are behind it. It is seen before assassinations, wars, and disasters. If someone see it, it is law in most lands to point it out to the leaders of the place so they can prepare for what is coming. It doesn’t mean absolute death but more as a warning that something bad is going to happen. It can cause people to panic when they see it. It also sclipses all other moons as it is the closest to Aztharian.

Amber Moon of Zalonia

Amber Moon — Betrayal

The amber moon symbolizes treachery, deception, and hidden agendas. It is often seen near courts, councils, or negotiations. For example, if it appears when two kings are making an agreement, they will suspect that the other will break the treaty. I could mean that there will be an assassination attempt on the king. Kings who see these moons strengthen their security just in case. However, their security can’t always be trusted. To the average person, it means that they are around a person or people who are deceptive. This moon can cause people to become paranoid.

White Moon — Birth of Something New

White Moon of Zalonia

This moon appears when there will be birth, renewal, and beginnings. This is often seen after a place has become war-torn. It means that the war-torn area should be repaired instead of abandoned. Some magicians acknowledge this moon if they want to gain a new ability. It could mean a change in social status. People who see this moon generally don’t tell others about it because they could interfere with the outcome. It also appears before revolutions or new areas. It is often a moon that brings hope. It’s not seen very often, but when it is seen, the person seeing it generally gets excited.

Rose Moon — Magic Disturbance

Rose Moon of Zalonia

The rose moon (different from the usual red moon) usually appears when magic is out of balance. Perhaps a wizard used too much magic. This can cause ripples in the magical atmosphere of Zalonia and cause other magicians to misfire their own magic. There also could be someone or even multiple people who are tampering with forbidden magic that can cause spells to misfire. Most magicians who see the rose moon withhold from using magic because they don’t want something to go wrong. It also often precedes magical disasters or breakthroughs

Teal Moon — Love

Teal Moon of Zalonia

The teal moon is the moon of love. It is lighter than Cadrone and appears much closer to the planet. It will often show when two romantic partners are out and enjoying the night sky. It is a good omen for lovers who do see it. When it is not seen, the couple may come to question their relationship decisions. If they go out for a romantic evening but don’t see the teal moon, they will like break up before they get too attached. However, some people ignore the teal moon because they have become obsessed with the person they love.
